Pre-College Life
August 21, 2005
Well, I had my going away party yesterday and it was a great turnout. We had hoped that the weather would clear up, but it didnt. We held it inside, and while it was a little cramped, it worked out. We had about 20 people there for the party and only about half of the food that was made up was eaten. The most common gift that was given me was money, mostly in the form of a roll of quarters for laundry. I wonder if that is a hint or something...oh well. I also recieved a whiteboard calender, a new organizer, many gift cards for wal-mart and McDonalds, and a big bottle of laundry detergent. Oh yeah, and a tote to carry all my shower stuff in. I wonder if that is another hint or something...oh well.
Today, though, was my last church service. I helped out with the worship set like always, and after the pastor had prayed for me and James Knightly, the other senior graduating from the church, I sang one last song for the congregation. I chose "Sea of Faces" as my last song, and it was a wise choice. I really felt the song and after I was done, my mother was crying. Someone came up to me after and said that this performance was the best that he has ever seen me do and it looked like I really put my heart into the song. I wanted to leave everyone there with something to remember me by.
Well, I gotta go. My break is almost over. I'll post again soon!
